Many supermarkets and major clothing stores are open on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings and have late trading hours on Fridays. General stores called cafes, which supply basic requisites open from as early as 06:00 and close as late as 23:00.

Most banks have Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) which are open 24 hours a day for cash withdrawals and deposits.

Stamps can be bought at many stationery shops and supermarkets. Private companies offer many of the postal services supplied by the main post office as well as courier and speed post services such as DHL, FedEx, UPS

Major hospitals have out-patients and casualty facilities for emergencies. Visitors should arrange medical insurance before their arrival and are responsible for their own medical needs. Doctors are listed under "Medical Practitioners" in the telephone directory and Dentists can be found under "Dentists".

Safety

Tipping
It is customary to tip waiters, waitresses, wine stewards, taxi drivers, porters and caddies. Depending on service, the amount should be around 10%. Petrol station attendants often anticipate a tip if they have gone beyond just filling your tank.

Tap water throughout the region is of a high standard, and is safe for human consumption.
